Description: This position will be a team member in the Communications Center, which includes dispatching police, fire and on occasion, other public agencies. Will monitor a multi-channel radio system; receive incoming requests for service, both routine and emergency; screen and prioritize those requests and then assign the appropriate public service agency response; operate various telecommunications equipment; operate a local 911 PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point);
The position requires someone who will remain calm in emergency situations and handle confidential matters with a high degree of discretion. This position operates radio-telephone transmitting and receiving equipment; performs assigned clerical work relating to police and fire records operations.
