Job Title: Project-Event Security Manager Company: Walt Disney Location: Bristol, CT Description: DEPARTMENT: ESPN SECURITY MANAGEMENT TITLE: Project – Event Security Manager JOB ID: 219580 LOCATION: Bristol, CT Job Scope: This project position will be responsible for security planning, information management, logistics, and coordination in support of the security efforts to protect ESPN’s employees, supplemental workforce and equipment during the series of World Cup events taking place in South Africa in summer 2010. Partner with other Disney entities to ensure mutual protection. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain a project plan that includes timelines, resources, assignments and deliverables. • Partner with Security operations to identify cost implications and needs to ensure costs are accurately forecasted and managed. Flag cost concerns and ensure approval levels are achieved. • Attend and participate in client departments (Radio, Network, Digital, and Brazil) planning meetings to determine security implications. • Track security needs/requests from client departments and build plan to ensure coverage. • Develop and distribute communications to security team on project status and task completion. • Develop tools that will be used onsite to manage event including schedules, contact resources, plans, and communications. • Develop attendee resources outlining security, health, and safety practices, resources, guidelines and instruction. • Assist in preparing security staff for event. • Manage Bristol based operations in support of event during the event. • Execute other World Cup security related tasks as they develop. Requirements: • A minimum of 3 years security management experience with a minimum of 2 years in an event or project capacity. • Strong project management skills with requisite technical capabilities in project management tools. • Strong organization, communications and leadership skills. Ability to consolidate information and data, and organize cohesive and meaningful plans. • Financially astute with ability to understand and manage budgetary components to projects. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including effective use of Excel and PowerPoint. • Knowledge of international security operations, a plus. • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
