The Space & Geospatial Intelligence Business Unit currently has an opening for a Security IT/Forensic Investigator. JOB DESCRIPTION: Job Description: The Security IT/Forensic Investigator will provide support to the Program Management Office (PMO). The investigator uses a variety of forensics and detection tools to conduct forensic examination activities including assisting in the analysis of various types of network, computer and technology devices which may contain digital evidence. They aid in the investigation of unauthorized use of computers and networks, fraudulent activities, data spills, and containment and eradication of malicious code. The selected candidate will use best practices to document and preserve digital evidence for legal proceeding and may prepare detailed written reports to support findings. The selected candidate will also investigate alerts identified by various security appliances and review audit logs to determine if an incident has occurred. The individual will interact daily with customers and/or functional peer groups in order to schedule as well as perform investigations. Education: BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related science degree. 5 years experience in computer science, software engineering, information security fundamentals or general IT experience, relative to the position may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Required Skills: All applicants must have an active TS/SCI clearance and agree to undergo a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination to be considered for this position. Minimum 3 years of technical experience with client/server. Knowledge in the use of computer forensics and/or security compliance tools. Experience conducting network based incident investigations. Demonstrated understanding of client/server architecture and general TCP/IP protocol. Knowledge of Windows (2000/XP/Server 2003) platforms. Experience in finding, documenting, reporting and removing data spills. Experience eradicating computer viruses and malicious code and finding retrieving, analyzing, preserving, and maintaining digital information from computers and network equipment. Experience maintaining “chain of custody” by following rules of digital evidence as well as writing and briefing incident responses or situational reports. Prior working experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) and the Department of Defense (DOD) and a demonstrated ability at producing written and verbal skills is needed. Desired Skills: Familiarity with Guidance Software toolsets to include EnCase Forensics and EnCase Enterprise. Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems and various scripting languages are desired. Experience utilizing Microsoft SQL 2005, BindView and ArcSight would be beneficial. Proficiency using MS-Office tool suite.
