Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to protect company and store assets by enforcing loss prevention policies and procedures and providing customer service. The incumbent is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:1.     Monitor the daily activities of assigned store and prevent internal and external (shoplifting/theft) losses.2.     Maintain the physical security of assigned store by conducting daily audit of store to ensure that all alarms, closed circuit television (CCTV), and locks are functioning properly.3.     Conduct routine bag checks on associates and maintain log book. 4.     Conduct Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) audits and maintain log book.5.     Train store associates on loss prevention policies and procedures and shrink management.6.     Assist Loss Prevention Manager with internal investigations and other special projects as necessary.7.      Assist DM/PMD/LPM in completing SMT’s.8.     Complete safety and sanitation reports and take corrective action to solve issues.9.     Monitor receiving procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.10.  Manage customer service and duties assigned by the store manager.11.  Uses civil demand and/or arrest when necessary, following all company policies and procedures. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Non Negotiable(s)/Critical Success Factors: • Owns shrink and safety results for assigned area(s) and supports the Loss Prevention five play strategy• Manages the training, detection, investigation and successful resolution of all internal investigations within assigned district. • Ensures all training in the detection and detention of shoplifters including certification has been completed in assigned district• Conducts assessments of Loss Prevention and operational performance that impacts shortage control. Actively works with district teams in the development and implementation of action plans to improve performance.• Knowledgeable in the areas of safety, food safety (Kmart/Essentials/Grand), OSHA and environmental programs, and ensures implementation and compliance in assigned district.• Reviews safety and food safety inspections (Kmart/Essentials/Grand) on a regular basis. Experience selecting, assessing, coaching and developing managers, preferably in a retail environment.6. Knowledge of financial operations and processes; analytical skills to diagnose root cause of deficiencies.7. Effective oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of internal and external team members.8. Ability to use strategic thought process to minimize exposure to emerging threats and trends9. Ability to form strong partnerships across reporting relationships.10.
