Specific responsibilities include: Assisting the Director of Security in developing and implementing all emergency preparedness and safety/security procedures for the Largo facility Overseeing the operations of the contract security officers assigned to the Largo property; maintaining routine contact with the Director of Security and Building Manager and ensuring all pertinent information is passed along and documented Responding to and documenting all out-of-the-ordinary occurrences, accidents, and safety/security hazards in response to an incident, conduct investigations, interviews and gather relevant information; following property specific procedures for handling emergency situations and ensuring all UMUC safety and security procedures are adhered to Ensuring all patrols are properly documented and maintained; monitoring and controlling access to the building and all internal offices and storage areas, ensuring all opening and closing (lockdown) Immediately reporting and documenting all safety and security work orders Performing other job-related as assignedRequires a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least (2) years of experience in a security related field. Knowledge of security operations, emergency preparedness planning, and basic understanding of legal issues related to security is required. Strong customer and employee relations skills, effective conflict management skills, and strong communication skills (verbal, listening, written) are also required.
