Job Title: Public Safety Dispatcher - Waterville, ME Company: Location: Waterville, ME Description: The City of Waterville is accepting applications for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher in the Waterville Regional Communications Center, in order to establish a hiring list in anticipation of a future opening. Successful applicants will be responsible for providing dispatching services to area police, fire, rescue, and medical personnel. Applicants must possess a minimum of a high school diploma, G.E.D. and college is preferred. Also, Certified Terminal Operator, EMD, and E911 qualified preferred. Successful applicants must meet job description, minimum physical, medical, and psychological standards.

Job Title: Network Dispatcher Company: KAR Holdings, Inc. Location: Clinton, ME Description: Reporting to the NVDD Branch Manager, coordinate the pickup and delivery of vehicles for salvage, wholesale auction and vehicle dismantler, in accordance with corporate guidelines to ensure maximum production volume in the most profitable way possible. Perform all duties assigned by the NVDD Branch Manager or designated supervisor. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state or federal laws are followed at all times. Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Provide prompt and courteous service, both on the phone and in person. 2. Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions. 3. Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner. Advise the NVDD Branch Manager or designated manager of all complaints or incidences. 4. Screen pickup assignments for age, condition and value of vehicle. Evaluate photos to determine vehicle value and estimate severity of damage.5. Make a determination of the best venue (salvage auction, wholesale auction, vehicle dismantler) for remarketing the vehicle.6. Assist with salvage title decisions to comply with all state laws.7. Coordinate with Impact locations and/or independent contractors to make sure vehicles are picked up in a timely and efficient manner.8. Follow up and resolve any pick-up or dispatch problems as necessary, gaining appropriate approvals whenever necessary or pursuing refunds as required. 9. Respond to problem situations that may occur with customers or contractors.10. Manage accurate daily accounting and completion of records. 11. Assist with proper staffing in connection with the volume of pickup and delivery orders.12. Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance. 13. Make sure all department area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Branch Manager or designated manager immediately. Practice proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.Educational Requirements and Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required. • Must possess a valid driver’s license.• Three (3) years auto evaluation experience gained through auto salvage buying, auto auction or auto dealer employment or body shop management is required.• Familiarity with all vehicle makes/models and valuation tools such as Black Book, NADA Guide and auction websites. • Ability to complete required paperwork.• Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Word and Excel. • Must submit to and pass controlled substance investigation and testing in accordance with company policy.
