Job Title: Public Safety Dispatcher Company: Location: Bremerton, WA Description: The primary purpose of the position is to obtain the information necessary to dispatch widely dispersed police, firefighting and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) resources for routine emergency situations. This involves providing appropriate post-dispatch and pre-arrival instructions and maintaining knowledge of all firefighting and EMS resources available in a widely dispersed area. Responsibilities include dispatching numerous and dissimilar emergency response assets throughout the Puget Sound area, including fire apparatus from 11 fire stations, 7 ambulances; 31 police units; boat patrol; K-9; Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD); and Radiological teams. This position serves as the key point of contact between field personnel, management and representatives of other public safety agencies. In support of the major duties and responsibilities, work requires using communication equipment such as emergency radios and a computer with general and specialized software common to the dispatching occupation.
