Job Title: Security Guard Company: Family Dollar Location: Charlotte, NC Description: General Summary: Security Officer is responsible for ensuring safety, security and compliance with all of Family Dollars Loss Prevention rules and regulations. Security Officer is responsible for all assigned areas which include the Guardhouse, Front Desk and Warehouse/Roving. Principal Duties Responsibilities: Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, truck drivers and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Responsibilities may include: issuing visitor passes, maintaining sign-in logs and allowing no unauthorized merchandise to leave the building or premises. Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Perform appropriate actions and notify proper authorities during emergencies to provide safety of employees and Family Dollar property. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Answer incoming calls during business or non-business hours and when the switchboard is closed. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, which includes: submitting written reports of unusual incidents to direct supervisor and affected managers, completing and maintaining shift reports and related security logs. Patrol premises to prevent and detect security breaches, safety hazards, violations of theft and ensure security of doors, gates, lights, trailers, etc. Circulate and remain visible among visitors and employees, which will assist in preserving order and protecting property from vandalism and/or theft. Assist in other areas that require security as needed. Areas that require security include the following: Guardhouse, Front Desk and Warehouse/Roving. Maintain accurate logs of all vehicles that require authorization to access Family Dollar Property. Other duties as assigned.
