Job Title: Air Safety Investigator 5 Company: Boeing Location: Long Beach, CA Description:   Principle Boeing mishap investigation point of contact for C-17 operating commands (AMC, AETC, PACAF, ANG, AFRC), foreign customers, the Air Force Safety Center, operating bases, and customer safety and accident investigation boards. Coordinates and directs the efforts of numerous Boeing Integrated Product Teams to assist mishap boards in resolving issues relating to their investigations. Chairs the C-17 Mishap Review Committee when initiated. May accompany and act as the company lead for any Boeing employees sent on-site to support a major aircraft accident. Maintains accident/incident files involving C-17 aircraft and coordinates with legal counsel and corporate insurance as required. After mishap investigations are complete, communicates non-privileged findings with company management and C-17 engineering. Supports the identification and mitigation of airplane related risks (design, maintenance and operations) identified over the course of an investigation using existing company safety processes. Approximately twenty five percent or more of the duties include acting as site activation lead for new USAF, ANG and AFRC bases. Will assist the foreign site activation focal in preparing foreign customers to receive new C-17s.
