Job Title: Security Officer (PT) Company: Starwood Location: Steamboat Springs, CO Description: POSITION PURPOSEResponsible for the safeguarding of hotel assets, guests, visitors and employees. Maintains high standards of conduct and appearance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAVERAGE %OF TIME60% Patrol hotel property to safeguard guest and employees and to protect all hotel assets. Answer radio calls for assistance. Assist guests and employees with respect to safety, security and hotel operations. Initiate investigations of incidents occurring on property and complete all related documentation. Collect, document and properly store lost and found items. Provide escorts for employees, guests, funds and deposits as needed. Responsible for the collection and proper distribution of mail in accordance with policy.25% Make and issue electronic key cards as needed for employees. Issues parking permits and employee lockers in accordance with directives. Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, and distributes reports as directed.25% Check all alarm systems and safety/security equipment to maintain operability. Monitors CCTV and alarm systems. Maintain accurate records while performing basic office duties including. Assist department management as needed.Other:Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In order to provide crucial emergency response capability to the Sheraton Steamboat Resort and Villas, Security staff are paid for their meal breaks and must remain on call during any breaks that are given. Security staff are expected to remain able and are required to respond to the employer needs during breaks, in addition attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required unless specifically excused by their Supervisor.Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotels facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONSIn addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:May participate in Safety committee as security department representative.
