The incumbent serves as the Chief Ranger for San Juan Island National Historical Park, reporting to the superintendent and serving as a member of the park's interdisciplinary management team.  The incumbent conducts a full range of visitor and resource protection activities such as wildland and structural fire response, as well as medical response and search and rescue.  The incumbent hires and supervises seasonal LE staff, educates the public about park management, assists in conducting resource management activities, and manages special park uses.
