What are we looking for?

The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager position is responsible for implementation of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) strategy in assigned location(s)/region(s).

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $90K - $115K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

  • Implement the HSE strategy for assigned location(s), region(s).
  • Act as the point of contact for Site Safety Coordinators in assigned locations on HSE matters.
  • Identify appropriate HSE improvements to the Business Line Director, to drive continuous improvement within the business.
  • Provide input to the Business Line Director on administrative and policy aspects of the HSE Program.
  • Responsible for ensuring that management teams properly implement HSE policies.
  • Monitor, supervise and participate in internal and external audits of HSE programs.
  • Lead and participate in HSE related meetings.
  • Responsible for the direction and implementation educational safety and health training programs to all levels of personnel.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of all HSE-related client tools.
  • Investigate work-related injuries, near miss events, and provide recommendation(s) for prevention.
  • Work with the Human Resources Department to address corrective action for post-accident incidents.
  • Ensure that field safety audits are being conducted to keep programs in compliance as well as the personnel that are being audited.
  • Serve as the DER of the Substance Abuse Program and is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and continuation of this program.
  • Schedule required training for new and current personnel though external training providers, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education, training, or certifications with applicable designations in addition to directly related work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in a directly comparable role as a Safety Supervisor or Safety Manager.
  • Responsible for the coordination of business led solutions while driving the HSE agenda.
  • Ability to work within the business and apply HSE solutions within the specific business context.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in one of the following industries:
    • Oil and Gas
    • Manufacturing
    • Power Systems
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to promote effective working relationships at all levels and create a positive work environment
  • Ability to manage by influence.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to conduct business across multiple time zones.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office software and database tracking programs.
  • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
  • Ability to travel as business dictates (up to 25%)

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety or related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or eligible.
  • 7+ years of comparable experience as a Safety Supervisor or Safety Manager.
