This position supervises, leads, directs, and mentors a shift of armed security officers providing security services to Camp Navajo facilities to protect against threats that would justify use of force, to include deadly force. Responsible for overseeing all shift activities and related administrative actions; conducts Security Officer training as required.
Responsibilities include:
Directly interact with tenant units in support of requested security requirements for additional activities, including but not limited to inspection/security checks of items in conveyance (vehicles with hazardous materials). Support AZ ARNG senior leadership through directing security operations for high profile events. Answer and respond to dispatch calls from authorized authorities.
Perform duties of Security Officer I, including but not limited to; entry control, patrols, restoring order when required, detention and/or apprehension of trespasses or persons identified as a risk, search(s) for person(s) conducting criminal acts and/or other violations, provides assistance to evacuate/secure installation infrastructure in the event of an emergency. Review and sign SO1 PD.
Supervise, lead, direct, and mentor a shift of armed security officers providing security services for the installation. Coordinate all shift activities such as managing leave requests, scheduling, conducting briefings, and organizing shift actives and duty assignments.
Ensure all personnel on assigned shift have required equipment and are properly trained on duties and responsibilities for assigned position. Serves as the Field Training Officer (FTO) for new hires assigned to their shift. Approve electronic time entry for assigned personnel.
Review written reports of subordinate personnel for completeness and accuracy, taking follow up action as required. Prepare performance appraisals, complete appreciation forms and initiate progressive disciplinary measures as required. Assist hiring managers with interview potential candidates. Assists with DEMA asset property inventory.
Provide information to civic/public and/or government identified visitors and direct traffic management through designated traffic plans and/or parking areas consistent with force protection measures as prescribed by regulation and/or installation policies. Serves as Incident Commander of emergencies until relieved IAW NIMS/ICS.
Assist the State/Territory Command Physical Security Officer with physical security inspections, risk analysis, and surveys. Support Camp Navajo Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program at CN and maintain logs of current participants on site.
Special Job Requirements:
This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid Arizona state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
Candidates for this position will be required to submit to a criminal background investigation as well as possess the ability to achieve a favorable Tier 3 investigation for purpose of obtaining/maintaining a Secret clearance eligibility and Common Access Card (CAC).
Must be able to qualify on all assigned and issued weapons to include lethal and less than lethal.
