Job Description

Title: Security Guard Department: Reports To: Location: Brownsville, TX FLSA: Non-Exempt | Full-Time | Hourly

Summary

The Security Guard monitors security systems, patrols yards, observes cameras for suspicious or unsafe conditions, and maintains detailed incident logs. This role requires strong understanding of protocols and clear communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Patrol yard.
• Observe cameras for hazards or suspicious activity.
• Assess situations and determine next steps with management.
• Collaborate with IT and management on security breaches and footage.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.
• Maintain logs for calls, alarms, and incidents.
• Follow SOPs and directives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Strong understanding of security protocols and patrol procedures.
• Strong documentation and incidentreporting skills.
• Ability to stay alert and observe suspicious activity.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift light weights.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

Work Environment

• Work performed indoors and outdoors; potential exposure to hot, cold, rain, snow.
• Personal protective equipment required.
• Evening or weekend work may be required.

Other Job Demands

May involve long hours, rotating schedules, and responding to active incidents.
