Job Description
The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety and protection of the WITCC campus facilities, students, staff and visitors on campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide security watch of WITCC campus.
Secure buildings and patrol campus by vehicle and on foot.
Monitor conditions of campus facilities.
Investigate and follow-up on campus incidents.
Assist students, staff and visitors by giving directions and information.
Provide traffic control and assist motorists.
Respond to emergencies and accidents.
Assist with Student Housing issues.
Use excellent communication and human relations skills.
Use database applications to create and manage files and communicate and interpret information maintaining confidentiality.
Advance and advocate a campus climate that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Perform other related duties as required.
Pre-Employment Qualification:
Offer is contingent upon a completion of a physical agility test. A Physical Agility Test (PAT) designed to simulate essential job functions. This may include a timed run of 100 yards, stair climb of 1 floor, and a dummy drag or equipment carry with a fine motor skill test to demonstrate the physical readiness required for campus safety response.
This is a part-time, grade 4, support position working 25 hours per week on Monday through Friday 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with an hourly wage of $19.66. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, tuition waiver and retirement.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or HSED.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Experience in related field.
Valid driver's license.
Law enforcement training a plus.
Bilingual skills a plus.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Ability to maintain the physical stamina required to respond to emergencies, including sprinting or running over uneven terrain, climbing stairs, and traversing the campus quickly, then providing physical assistance to individuals in distress.
Possess the leadership capacity to act as a on-site coordinator during campus emergencies, making sound, independent decisions under pressure while effectively guiding the response of others.

Moderate physical effort required; may include climbing, balancing, stooping, crawling, and movement of moderately heavy objects and materials; ability to lift 60 pounds required. Must be able to operate office machines and equipment, patrol vehicle, and snow removal equipment in the performance of duties. May involve extended periods of time driving or walking while on patrol.
