GeneralSummary of Position

The Safety Director is responsible fordeveloping, implementing, and continuously improving the companys safety andrisk management programs across both prefabrication operations and fieldinstallation crews. This role leads theorganization in creating a best-in-class safety culture focused onproactiveness, and accountability embedded directly into production. This role minimizes risk exposure and reducesincident rates and EMR through effective incident prevention, training,enforcement, and claims management practices ensuring compliance withregulatory requirements and company policy.

The Safety Director operates at both astrategic and operational level, partnering with executive leadership, field& prefab facility operations, and project teams to embed safety into allaspects of work execution.

Essential(Core Competencies) Duties

Promote a Safety Culture : Championa "think safe- work safe" culture across all levels of theorganization and collaborate with management and employees to motivate andensure engagement and accountability in safety initiatives.

Establish and communicate a clearcompany-wide safety vision, strategy, and expectations aligned withbest-in-class performance.

Drive a behavior-based safety culture thatemphasizes safe production is the expectation- not a tradeoff. Employees at all levels are:

Empowered to initiate improvements orstop work

Held accountable forunsafe behaviors

Lead initiatives that reinforce dailysafety ownership at the crew or jig level.

Partner with operations leadership toensure safety is integrated into planning, scheduling, and productionexpectations (not treated as a parallel function).

Drive consistency across multiple crews,foremen, and jobsites simultaneously, often under varying GC-controlledenvironments.

Align internal culture with external siterules (GCs/owners) while maintaining company standards.

Ensure immediate correction of unsafebehaviors, unsafe conditions, non-compliance with company or GC standards.

Create a structured system for progressivediscipline and corrective action tracking..

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular site and prefab facility inspections, audits, and job hazardanalyses (JHAs) to proactively identify potential hazards and implementcorrective measures to eliminate or minimize risks

Training and Education: Oversee thedevelopment of safety training programs for employees, managers, andsubcontractors on safe work practices, hazard recognition, emergency response,and proper handling of materials or equipment. Develop front line supervisors safety leadership so that safety isowned at the crew level, not just by the safety staff.

Claims Management & Risk Control:

Actively manage WC,GL, Auto claims acrossinsurance carriers, third party administrators, legal, and internalHR/Operations.

Implement best practicesin reducing claim severity and return to work programs.

Identify root causes tofeed changes back to training & enforcement.

Policy and Program Development: Create, implement, and update comprehensive health and safety policies,procedures, and manuals in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Data Analysis and Metrics: Overseetracking, analysis, and reporting on safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs),trends, and incident rates to leadership to drive continuous improvement

Oversee Safety Managers development ofproject and task specific safety programs such as JSAs.

Attend Safety Manager led Safety Committeemeetings to receive feedback and drive safety initiatives.

Oversee Safety Manager pre-planningjobsite meetings. Attend or conductmeetings when required.

Ensure that all employees achieve theproper training requirements as per the OSHA and company standards. If necessary, facilitate training for sitepersonnel for compliance.

Stop at once any violation or unsafepractice.

Oversee Safety Manager led investigationof incidents, root cause analysis, reporting, trend development, and correctiveactions.

Annually Review and update the companyHealth and Safety Program to ensure compliance with Local, State, and FederalRegulations and Requirements.

Other

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required to adhere to all Klover policies and procedures.

Supervisory/ Management Requirements:

Oversee safety manager

Oversee admin services staff with partial safety adminresponsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Associates or bachelors degree inOccupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or relatedfields.

OSHA 30 Construction Industry and/orGeneral Industry Certification

CSP, CSD, OSHA 500, CHST (preferred)

7-10 years experience in a safetyleadership role proven to establish and improve safety culture.

Proficiency in MS Office 365

Prior experience in conducting safetytraining both on-site and in a classroom setting

Prior experience in a field constructionrole preferred.

Preferred Experience andCertifications

Knowledge in advanced manufacturing technology and welding.

Previous work in an industrial construction environment.

Key Competencies

Experience with multi-site, crew-basedproduction environments

Expertise in claims management and costcontrol

Physical Requirements Continued

Due to the physical nature of theposition, employee must have full dexterity of their hands and arms.

Employee must be able to see objects closeand far away

At times, multiple sounds can be heard asemployee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on thesound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing. Employees with any sort of hearing impairmentwould not be considered fit for duty to perform this position.

Due to the safety sensitive nature of theposition, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and not report to workunder the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. At no time, should employee be found to bepossessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performingany Company task.
