You will operate autonomously under the guidance of a remote Regional Safety Manager, driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring adherence to OSHA and EPA regulations, and managing environmental and industrial hygiene programs. The position requires a self-starter who confidently manages safety processes, conducts incident investigations, and maintains robust documentation and reporting. Responsibilities Lead and manage all safety and EH&S programs within a manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. Act as the primary on-site safety authority, working autonomously under the direction of a remote Regional Safety Manager. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across the facility, including areas with overhead cranes, lifts, and material handling equipment. Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, documenting findings and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Prepare, maintain, and submit weekly safety reports and other required safety and environmental documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Manage environmental compliance activities, including environmental health, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulatory reporting. Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs aligned with OSHA standards and company requirements. Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions, including topics such as OSHA regulations, PPE usage, LOTO procedures, and safe operation around overhead cranes and material handling equipment. Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices throughout the facility. Support and oversee safety audits and regulatory inspections, including OSHA and environmental audits, and coordinate responses to findings. Identify hazards and assess risks associated with manufacturing operations, recommending and implementing mitigation measures. Maintain accurate records of safety training, incident investigations, inspections, audits, and environmental compliance activities. Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to integrate safety into daily workflows and to address safety concerns in real time. Provide guidance on hazardous materials handling and storage in accordance with applicable regulations and company standards. Remain on call Monday through Friday for emergency response and urgent safety issues, providing direction and support as needed. Promote a strong safety culture by engaging employees, reinforcing safe behaviors, and encouraging reporting of hazards and near misses. Essential Skills Proven experience in safety management or EH&S leadership within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience maintaining and enforcing OSHA policies and regulations, including managing and responding to OSHA audits. Hands-on experience with safety program management, including safety training, audits, and risk assessments. Strong background in environmental compliance, including environmental health, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulatory compliance. Experience conducting incident investigations and documenting findings, corrective actions, and follow-up. Familiarity with OSHA 30 standards and industrial safety practices. Knowledge of EPA regulations and requirements relevant to manufacturing operations. Experience with hazardous materials handling and associated safety protocols. Ability to prepare, manage, and maintain safety-related paperwork and documentation, including weekly safety reports. Experience working in facilities with overhead cranes, lifts, and material handling equipment (MHE). Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training and practical experience applying LOTO procedures in an industrial setting. Strong understanding of PPE requirements and implementation in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently and autonomously, taking initiative to identify issues and drive solutions. Willingness and ability to be on call Monday through Friday for emergency situations. Experience supporting or leading safety audits and regulatory inspections in a manufacturing setting. Experienced in industrial hygiene practices and monitoring within industrial environments. Experience with environmental health programs and reporting in line with regulatory requirements. Familiarity with safety management systems and continuous improvement approaches to safety performance. Strong written and verbal communication skills for training, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility where approximately 65% of the time is spent in a non-climate-controlled production environment and about 35% in a climate-controlled office setting.
