GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following conditions, as defined below :
Specialized Experience : Possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level obtained in either the private or public sector and defined as follows. Specialized experience includes performing 3 out of the 4 following types of duties:
- Advising management on all aspects of physical security and emergency preparedness;
- Developing, implementing, and administering contingency and emergency preparedness planning efforts;
- Developing procedures to assess the compliance of security programs with established national, Department, and headquarters policies and procedures, and evaluating the effectiveness of physical, communications, personnel, information and computer security programs;
- Planning and overseeing the installation and maintenance of all physical security systems, equipment, and building modifications.
