- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a public service location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report conditions to site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions or policy violations.
- Monitor entrances, common areas, and authorized access points, verify credentials when required, and document security-related incidents, observations, and daily activity in written reports.
- Support order at the location by providing direction to the public, de-escalating confrontational behavior when possible, and following post orders related to access control, visitor management, and emergency procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
