Patriot's Village State Veteran's Home in Sumter, SC, is currently seeking a dependable, organized and dedicated Individual to join our team as a Security Director/Maintenance Assistant!
Pay $32 - $34/Based on experience
Schedule - Full Time with Weekends
The Security officer is responsible to keep the facility safe and problem free. While providing Compassionate resident care services through patrol of the premises and entrances of vehicles and property, remove wrongdoers and trespassers from the area. The Maintenance Assistant's primary responsibility in this role will consist of painting and working with the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring the building(s), equipment and utilities are maintained in good working order and facility grounds are properly maintained in accordance with facility policies.

Placement within the wage range for this position is determined by years of experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions.
Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
- Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property.
- Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.
- Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations.
- Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
- Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions.
- Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
- Provide assistance to people in need.
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities.
- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
- Maintain Building grounds in a safe, workable condition
Qualifications
- Must have law enforcement background.
- Must complete a SLED approved curriculum
- Must have maintenance Background
- Must be authorized to carry a firearm must, before being issued, authorized or permitted to carry a firearm on duty, completion a course approved by SLED, consisting of a minimum of 4-hours of training by a privet security company certified training officer or law enforcement firearm instructor currently certified in South Carolins
- SLED must grant a Security Weapons Permit
- Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.
- Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.
- Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
