Responsibilities
  • Answer and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch appropriate emergency services including police, fire, and medical units.
  • Assess situations, and gather critical information.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, dispatches, and incident reports in the system.
  • Monitor alarms, surveillance systems, and radio communications to ensure situational awareness.
  • Ensure adherence to protocols, communicate with field units, and participate in training.
  • Maintain hospital directory and hospital related community resources in order to help callers.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1+ years customer service or dispatch experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Front Office

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Basic Officer Training Course through t he International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (CHSO-IAHSS), required upon hire
  • IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (MRCHILDIA), required within 90 days of hire
  • IL Child Abuse Mandatory ReporterTraining (MRCHILD-ILDCFS), required within 90 days of hire
  • IA Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (MRDEPADULTIA), required within 90 days of hire
  • IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (MRDEPADULT-ILDOA), required within 90 days of hire
