Senior Level Industrial Security Specialist

The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Industrial Security Specialist to join the team in Herndon, VA.

We are seeking a highly experienced CSSO with expert-level knowledge of Department of War policies and regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of Special Access Program (SAP) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) requirements and policy, classified information handling, risk management, and security program administration.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executes Internal Security Controls through performance of compliance assessment reviews and self-inspections to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements

  • Identifies deficiencies, develops and implements corrective action

  • Conducts Administrative Inquiries on personnel, processes and situations in accordance with established operating procedures to determine level and scope of non-compliance with government and company regulations/requirements

  • Protects government, intellectual, third party and company information from unauthorized disclosures

  • Develops and administers security education to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements on large and/or highly complex programs

  • Prepares activity or program concept of operation (CONOPs) outlining unique security protection requirements for sensitive operations

  • Contributes to enterprise Integrated Product Team (IPT) (e.g., participates in the review cycle and decision-making process for enterprise export compliance, procedures (PROs), Business Process Instructions (BPI's) and Desktop Instructions (DI's)

  • Coordinate across the security workforce, Boeing engineering, managerial and technical teams, as well as senior Boeing personnel and United States Government customers to support contract execution

  • Provides innovation and creativity into Personnel Security (e.g., reduce cycle time) to assist in obtaining individual security clearance/accesses for complex customer requirements

  • Provides innovation and creativity into security awareness training and education program (briefings, bulletins and visual reminders) to educate, refresh, and motivate personnel to protect people, property and information

  • Completes tasks toward long-range goals and objectives

  • Assist less experienced employees with the administration and execution of security protocols

  • Oversees Sub-Contractor Management (e.g., providing contractual requirements and direction, site assistance visits and reviews) to ensure compliance with government regulations/requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or have you been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years

  • 10+ years of experience in personnel security administration, physical security, communications security and/or other programmatic security-related field

  • 5+ years of experience as a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO)

  • 5+ years of experience working in one or a combination of the following domains: NISP, SAP and/or SCI

  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and/or Special Access Program (SAP) access

  • Willingness to submit to a U.S. government polygraph examination

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or military experience

  • Experience working with the 32 CFR 117 National Industrial Security Procedures and Operations Manual (NISPOM), experience working with DoD Manual 5205.07 and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs)

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervision and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to perform occasional second-shift or after-hours work schedules to accommodate program operations

  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Summary pay range: $141,600 - $194,700
