FIRST FINANICAL CENTER
The First Financial Center is located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, within blocks of top-rated restaurants, bars, pro-sports venues and attractions. First Financial Center has an innovative design that can accommodate both large and small groups. The First Financial Center recently completed a $264M reimagination and offers a 40,000 sq. ft. grand ballroom, 200,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, and 30 deluxe meeting rooms.
THE ROLE
The Security Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day security and public safety operations of the facility while helping ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, employees, vendors, and visitors. This position oversees administrative and management functions necessary to insure efficient departmental operations. Assist with maintaining all physical security items such as key control, card access system etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the safety and security of the facility, guests, employees, vendors, and visitors.
- Conduct routine patrols and inspections of the property to identify and address safety or security concerns.
- Monitor and ensure facility access, including locking and unlocking designated areas as required
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, incidents, disturbances, and guest concerns.
- Assist with crowd management and enforce venue policies and procedures during events and daily operations.
- De-escalate conflicts and appropriately manage disruptive or unruly individuals while maintaining professionalism.
- Assist management with Investigations and/or incidents including theft, vandalism, property damage, and other security-related matters; complete incident reports and collect supporting documentation, including photographs when necessary.
- Conduct security evaluations and prepared detailed security proposals, staffing estimates, and operational plans for client events.
- Provide direction, information, and assistance to guests, clients, and staff regarding facility operations and event schedules.
- Support operational needs including opening facilities for tours, events, and other scheduled activities.
- Collaborate with Contract Security to ensure effective coverage and service delivery of event-based security personnel.
- Collaborate with venue management, event staff, law enforcement, and emergency personnel as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, some college is preferred
- Must be at least 21
- Minimum 2 years security experience, preferably in a similar environment
- Supervisory experience is preferred

- Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
- Ability to effectively supervise staff.
- Ability to communicate with and take direction from immediate supervisor and facility management.
- Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and interacts with all levels of staff, including management.
- Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
- Ability to handle/resolve high tension situations and control unruly guests.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
- Must possess professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
- Must be a non-commissioned officer as mandated by the state.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Some computer experience including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must obtain all licenses or permits as required by the state, county, or city. Must have a valid drivers license.
