Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Department of Military Affairs Location 1101 Grade Lane Standiford Field Louisville, KY 40213 USA Description The Facilities Division is hiring a Security Specialist that: Performs as First Responder to all security and health and welfare incidents utilizing sidearm, long-gun and non- lethal weapons in the performance of duties. Acts as non-deployable Security Forces experience base ensuring successful security mission when Military force is deployed by performing duties in accordance with AFI and ANGI 31-101, AF131-201, AFI36-2226, AFI31-117, and local policies and directives. (KYANG - Kentucky Air National Guard; USAF - United States Air Force; DOD - Department of Defense; BDOC - Base Defense Operations Center; NCIC - National Crime Information Center; DBIDS - Defense Biometric Identification System) Job duties include but are not limited to the following: Performs security duties at the KYANG, including Entry Control, Base Patrol, emergency and routine response duties IAW USAF, DOD, Local Policies and Directives. Provides armed response force to deter, detect, send alarm and neutralize threats against USAF Protection Level 1 through Protection Level 4 assists and resources. Acts as First Responder to Active Shooter and Hostage or Terroristic threats. Acts as a response force to all alarm activations. Utilizes electronic sampling devices for explosive material detection. Preserves evidence and record of circumstances surrounding the discovery. Perform BDOC duties as Dispatcher. Utilizes Fixed Base Station radio stack as well as MetroSafe LMR to communicate with on and off base personnel. Monitors MONACO Fire systems, video camera observation and recorders, E-911 System, and utilizes DBIDS Identification System. Accomplishes National Crime Information Center checks as required for Base Entry and criminal history and USAF requirements. Responsible for KYANG Emergency Reporting Point System, determining and dispatching appropriate resources as needed. Generates and maintains Security Forces daily blotter. Serves as coordination point with all civilian EMS and Law Enforcement services. Utilizes radio, land line, mass notification systems and USAF Desktop Alert System. Performs as Alarm system operator utilizing interactive ADVANTOR alarm system. Performs system operational checks to ensure accurate operation. Prioritizes response activities and dispatches appropriate patrol actions to generated alarms and conditions. Utilizes USAF and DOD computer networks. Responsible for attending and completing all annual training provided by state and federal government. Properly prepares USAF and DOD documents in support of investigative and resolution of security incidents. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: High school graduate. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in law enforcement, security, the military or a related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
