Burgess & Niple is looking for an experienced safety and workers' compensation professional to join our team in either Columbus, OH or Indianapolis, IN. The Corporate Safety Manager will provide a cohesive, safety-minded focus to multiple offices across the country and disciplines within the firm including engineering design, bridge and facilities inspection, environmental assessment and design, construction administration, architecture, planning, and office support staff. B&N Corporate Safety Manager Responsibilities : Implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with A/E/C industry standards, OSHA General Industry and/or Construction Industry regulations, and internal policies for all employees, including office staff and field personnel Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of office environments, project sites, and field operations Investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries to determine root causes and implement corrective actions Administer workers' compensation claims process across multi-state locations Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and reporting systems for regulatory compliance including OHSA 300 Collaborate with project managers to develop site-specific safety plans for field activities and contributing to safety portions of proposals or pre-qualifications Serve as the primary liaison with third-party administrators and insurance partners on workers' compensation claims and safety-related matters Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization Manage emergency response planning and coordinate drills and training exercises Provide guidance on safety equipment selection, maintenance, and proper usage Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or Engineering, or related field Minimum 8 years of progressive safety management experience, preferably in civil engineering, construction, or related industries Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or comparable safety certification preferred Thorough knowledge of OSHA General and Construction Industry regulations and safety standards Demonstrated experience developing and implementing corporate safety and workers' compensation programs Proven track record in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation Experience conducting safety training for professional, field, and office workforce populations Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret safety data and metrics Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office suite Ability to travel to all B&N project locations and offices, including overnight stays, up to 30% of the time A valid driver's license and acceptable driving history To learn more about B&N's Perks and Culture click here . #LI-JA1
