**Responsiblities**
The Batch Plant & Shaker Plant Operations Supervisor I will support project superintendents to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest level of quality, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors is important. This job requires a strong desire to learn and grow as a Superintendent, and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Supervise bargaining personnel, including approving time, participating in performance evaluations, and monitor training and participating in the selection process of new employees.
+ Support small projects as the point of contact Superintendent.
+ Schedule and sequence day-to-day operations, schedule/order materials for the shaker plant/batch plant.
+ Assist Supervisor II with project tracking, schedules and assist with estimating of projects.
+ Participate in the recruiting, selecting, and interviewing process for bargaining personnel of your assigned craft.
+ Oversee assigned projects to assure compliance with the scope and quality outlined by the work package.
+ Demonstrate the ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
+ Pro-actively anticipates and solves problems that could delay construction.
+ Maintain daily paperwork as assigned.
+ Enforce site safety practices.
+ Demonstrate the ability to walk the jobsite throughout the day and negotiate work areas under construction with ease.
+ Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings.
+ Pro-actively work to minimize costs in field operations
+ Participate in training and other forms of continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Establishes activity level work assignments for the bargaining personnel you supervise.
+ Ensures all projects are performed in accordance with contractual and quality standards.
+ Regularly communicate project activity to General Superintendent as well as Balance of Plant Construction Manager.
+ Organizes and supervises day-to-day operations, ensuring that schedules are kept.
+ Demonstrate the ability to set priorities.
+ Able to work occasional overtime as needed.
+ Create an environment where employees feel safe to raise issues, empowered to address issues, and supported to resolve issues.
+ Demonstrate an ability to communicate (oral and written) with employees, managers, customers, vendors, etc.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelors' degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 5 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
+ Must be familiar with Union Hiring Hall.

+ Demonstrate the ability to inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
+ Position requires ability to work outdoors, job-site locations are subject to inclement weather conditions.
+ The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site, Forward Area (located 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
+ Work schedule for this position will be 4/10s, Monday Thursday; 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (subject to change).
+ Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
+ Must have a valid driver's license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2 ( , Personnel Security. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
**Department of Energy Q Clearance** (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 ( , Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites, will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Annual salary range for this position is: $78,249.60 - $125,195.20.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
