Asset Protection Manager Jobs in Alaska
An Asset Protection Manager in the security industry is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to the protection and safeguarding of company assets, including employees, property, and information. They develop and implement security policies and procedures to minimize the risk of loss through theft, vandalism, litigation, and disaster. They also design, implement and monitor security systems and equipment and coordinate with law enforcement and other emergency response agencies during security incidents. Moreover, they oversee security staff, conduct security audits, and recommend improvements to ensure the optimal performance of the security system.
An Asset Protection Manager should be highly skilled in risk assessment, crisis management, and problem-solving with a keen eye for detail. They should possess strong leadership and communication skills and have a good understanding of security technology and software. Professional certifications like Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) from ASIS International are beneficial. Additionally, a strong background in law enforcement or military experience is often required. Prior to becoming an Asset Protection Manager, an individual might have held roles such as a Security Supervisor, Loss Prevention Specialist, or Security Consultant.
