A Day in the Life of a Master Security Officer
This position provides direct security and related public services to Cheyenne Regional. Master Security Officers provide armed and TASER security responses in addition to the duties of a Security Officer. This position routinely serves as a visible deterrence and intervenes in crisis situations when needed.

Here is What You Will Be Doing:
Provides a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in both public and non-public areas of the organization.
Provides armed and TASER security response strictly following established Use of Force continuum.
Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
Identifies individuals experiencing emotional distress and/or not properly processing information. Is supportive or directive as required by situation.
Intervenes verbally and/or physically during crisis.
Escorts and assists patients, visitors, and staff.
Remains alert and vigilant for activities which could result in injury.
Executes written and verbal instructions.
Writes accurate, clear, and legible reports.
Acts as lead in absence of Security Shift Supervisor as directed.
Assists with administrative tasks as directed.
Desired Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population
Ability to quickly read a situation and comprehend needs
Knowledge of Use-of-Force Continuum
Ability to physically restrain people
Knowledge of facility locations and layout
Ability to interact with all levels of staff
Report and correspondence writing skills
Basic computer and software skills
Excellent customer service skills
Here is What You Need:
High school diploma (or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree
Valid USA driver's license
Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center's driving guidelines
Must pass psychological examination
60 Days: Completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within sixty (60) days of start date
1 Year (all of the following must be obtained within one (1) year of start date):
Current Basic Level Certification (CHSO) from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS)
Current Advanced Level Certification (CAHSO) from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS)
Nice to Have:
Associate's Degree
Experience working with public in a service-oriented setting
