Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Responsible for supervising Security Officers, EMTs, and Corporals on assigned shift and for properly executing security duties to provide for the safety of guests and Team Members and protect the assets of the company and facility. Responsible for maintaining close, continuous surveillance of all assigned non-gaming areas of the entire property. Provides and coordinates emergency medical response, including CPR, AED, and First Aid, when EMT staff are unavailable, already engaged, or when directed by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members, delivering excellent customer service at all time.
  • Supervises Security Officers, EMTs, and Corporals on assigned shift. Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to ensure operational coverage, policy compliance, and readiness to perform security and medical response duties.
  • Ensures proper execution of assigned duties and adherence to rules, regulations, policies, and orders.
  • Provides protection for the casino and all Team Members, guests, and company assets.
  • Guards all transfers of monies and chips on the casino floor as well as the physical transportation of hopper fills, chip fills, and credits.
  • Maintains effective communications with the Director of Security of all changes in status or emergencies affecting the Security Department or casino property.
  • Provides immediate assistance during medicals until EMTs or outside responders arrive, including administering CPR, AED, and First Aid when necessary.
  • Responds to disturbances or conflicts, enforcing entry restrictions (e.g., minors, intoxicated guests) and applying de-escalation techniques.
  • May perform dispatch duties, operate radios, and manage key control when assigned.
  • Interacts with local law enforcement agencies as required.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and attendant regulations as well as company internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists in ongoing training programs for the Security Department Team Members.
  • Completes and reviews incident reports, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness, and escalates issues to supervisory staff as required.
  • Maintains and augments personal skills through review, study, and training.
  • Assists in operating the timekeeping system.
  • Assists valet and shuttle drivers as needed.
  • Monitors traffic control and parking areas.
  • Monitors all areas of the property at all times, identifying potential security, medical, and/or safety risks and reporting or responding appropriately for resolution.
  • Protects company assets and integrity through consistent, thorough monitoring of property activities. Utilizes necessary equipment to identify, record, document and report illegal, suspicious or unusual activities.
  • Coordinates with the Security Shift Supervisor when incidents require further investigation or attention.
  • Ensures accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports, including security and medical incident documentation.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all investigations and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct at all times, including in public and online forums, consistent with company policies.
  • Maintains consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Ushers as needed for events.
  • Performs any reasonable requests made by management.
  • Maintains professional personal hygiene and adheres to company grooming and uniform standards. Must report to work clean, well groomed, and in proper uniform to uphold a professional image and ensure a positive guest experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises all Security Officers, EMTs, and Corporals on assigned shift.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Security Officer in gaming is preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Security Corporal at Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino or equivalent experience is preferred. Knowledge of and experience with closed circuit television equipment preferred. Excellent communication skills required. Must be flexible in hours, day and shift. Must possess and maintain current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid (training provided post-probationary period). Certification must remain active throughout employment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear and accurate reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or Team Members.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to a variety of situations. Ability to apply to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear. The Team Member is also regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls. The Team Member is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, sit, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The Team Member must be physically capable of performing CPR, utilizing an AED, and assisting with lifting or moving guests and Team Members during medicals. The Team Member is regularly required to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The Team Member is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud on the casino floor. The Team Member will be exposed to a smoke-filled environment. The position may require working in high-stress emergencies involving medical incidents, evacuations, or law enforcement response.
