Security Officer

The Security Officer is responsible for providing protection for the hotel, guests, and staff from incidents such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive occurrences. This role requires an individual with integrity, honesty, and a cooperative attitude toward both the job and fellow personnel. The Security Officer is a key part of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at the hotel, ensuring that all hotel policies and procedures are enforced while providing exceptional customer service to all guests.

Key Responsibilities
oEnforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment
oProvide protection for the hotel, guests, and staff from incidents such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive occurrences
oPerform security patrols of the hotel premises, including guest rooms, common areas, and external grounds
oRespond promptly to alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines, and any security breaches
oUtilize Microsoft Office and other commonly used computer programs to document incidents and maintain records
oObserve and report all major incidents to the appropriate authorities and hotel management
oMaintain effective radio/telephone communications to ensure seamless security operations
oWork in a constant state of alertness and respond to emergencies in a safe and efficient manner
oIdentify and respond to guests' needs, providing excellent customer service and assistance
oBuild, strengthen, and maintain collaborative relationships with other departments and external partners, including law enforcement
oMaintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance while on duty, in accordance with hotel standards
oDetain individuals as necessary until police arrive, ensuring the safety and security of the hotel and its guests
Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Manager

Minimum Education:
oHigh School diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Minimum Experience:
oAt least one year of experience in law enforcement, military, or security, preferably in building security
oCPR certification preferred and any other relevant certifications
oMust successfully complete a pre-hire physical and drug test

Skills/Abilities
oStrong knowledge of security procedures and emergency response
oProficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other commonly used computer programs
oExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff
oAbility to work independently, maintain a constant state of alertness, and perform duties in a safe manner
oDemonstrated integrity, honesty, and professionalism
oStrong problem-solving and reasoning skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly
oAbility to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed professional appearance while on duty, adhering to hotel standards
oFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
